Peggy Gou is a world-renowned DJ and record producer hailing from South Korea and based in Germany. She has released seven EPs on esteemed record labels such as Ninja Tune and Phonica. In 2019, she launched her own independent record label, Gudu Records, and released a DJ-Kicks compilation, DJ-Kicks: Peggy Gou, on !k7 Records. Gou’s distinct sound and style has captivated audiences around the globe, making her one of the most in-demand DJs today.
Her father, Kim Chang-yong, is a former journalist and professor of mass communication at Inje University, as well as a standing commissioner of Korea Communications Commission.
Peggy Gou began her musical journey at the age of eight, when she started taking classical piano lessons. At fourteen, her parents sent her to London, England to study English. However, after eighteen months she decided to return to Korea. But it wasn’t long before the allure of London pulled her back, and six months later she was back in the city, this time to study fashion at the London College of Fashion.After she graduated, she worked as the London correspondent editor for Harper’s Bazaar Korea. She then moved to Berlin, Germany, where she currently resides.
