Danny Masseling, best known as his stage name Angerfist, is a Dutch hardcore producer and DJ. He is also well-known for producing for other genres and subgenres under various aliases and for being part of the following groups: The Supreme Team , Masters Elite and Roland & Sherman. He always puts on an amazing live act!
Angerfist began dabbling in music production at the age of 16. He started with simple 4-beat programmed loops and breakbeats, but his interest in music production quickly began to grow.
Angerfist began his musical journey in 2001, after sending a demo to Mark Vos – also known as DJ Buzz Fuzz. Vos liked what he heard, and decided to sign Angerfist to his label, BZRK Records. Angerfist then released his first EPs under the names “Menace II Society” and “Angerfist”.
Angerfist’s unique sound soon gained him a following in the “gabber scene.” His style, characterized by hard bass drums and vocals sampled from various media, especially films, has a raw, aggressive quality that is irresistible to many fans of this genre.
He’s got some pretty popular songs, like “Dance With The Wolves”, “Raise Your Fist”, and “Riotstarter”. His popularity gave him the chance to produce the anthem for Masters of Hardcore in 2005, called “The World Will Shiver”.
Angerfist is no stranger to performing at well-known events such as Sensation Black, Masters of Hardcore, Defqon. 1, Mysteryland, and Dominator. In 2011, Angerfist was ranked 39th on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ list, dropping to 42nd the following year but rising back up to 34th place in 2013.
As of 2020, his highest ranking on the DJ Mag list was 29th, which he achieved in 2018. He is currently ranked 33rd on the list for 2019. In July 2013, it was announced that the Bloodcage project would feature MC Prozac as the live face of the project, while still involving both artists in its studio.
As of September 2021, during the Covid-19 pandemic, he also started playing games with fans on live streams – also known as AngerGames. During live performances with his MC, they almost always don luxurious, specially designed ice hockey masks and black or white hoodies.
