Formed in 2000, Above & Beyond is an electronic music group consisting of English DJs Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Finnish DJ Paavo Siljamäki. The group is the owner of London-based electronic dance music labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, and also hosts a weekly radio show titled Group Therapy Radio.
Above & Beyond has consistently ranked among DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll, placing at No. 6 in 2007, No. 4 in 2008 and 2009, No. 5 in 2010 and 2011, No. 51 in 2018, No. 22 in 2019, No. 19 in 2020 and most recently No. 21 in 2021.
Grant and Siljamäki met at the University of Westminster and found that they both liked electronic music, so they decided to write some tunes together.The original mix of “Volume One” was pretty popular in various dance clubs and gained support from DJs such as Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, and Paul van Dyk, after Grant and Paavo Siljamäki handed a dub plate of the song to them.
Above & Beyond have been producing weekly shows since 2004, including Anjunabeats Worldwide. They currently host a show called Group Therapy Radio, taking turns each week.Group Therapy is a two-hour show that features a guest mix by a guest DJ in the last half hour.
